Boys basketball: Defense guides B-E past Underwood

Sam Fuller

The Brandon-Evansville boys basketball team breezed past Underwood in a Little Eight Conference matchup on Thursday night, beating the Rockets in a 55-34 game.

The Chargers shot just 38 percent (19-of-50) but used their defense to hold Underwood to 11 points in the first half. That led to a 20-point lead by the break.

“I thought we did some good things tonight,” B-E head coach Trent Hintermeister said. “Our defense played well for most of the game. Sam Fuller had a nice game for us, making the smart play when it was available to him.”

Fuller had a team-high 14 points to go with four rebounds. Titus Fuller had seven points and five rebounds on a night when B-E spread out its scoring between 10 guys.

The Chargers will go on the road next as they travel to Ashby on Tuesday night at 7:15.
