Baseball: Errors lead to Chargers' loss
The Brandon-Evansville baseball team struggled to make plays in the field Monday night.
The Chargers fell to the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder 8-1 and committed five errors.
"It was just one of those nights where things didn't go our way," B-E head coach Brian Perleberg said. "It wasn't one or two major things but a multitude of smaller things."
The Chargers also has issues capitalizing on scoring chances.
"We left 10 runners on base and nine of those were in scoring position," Perleberg said. "We had our chances but we couldn't break through. Give credit to LPGE. They had their backs to the wall several times. Hopefully we can rebound from this one and get back on track as the week progresses."
Marshall Reidel had a good day at the plate. He went 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base. Zach Haugen took the loss on the mound for the Chargers.
B-E (12-6) heads to Lake Park-Audubon (0-12) on Tuesday and New York Mills (13-2) on Thursday to wrap up the regular season.
