The Brandon-Evansville baseball team completed a five-game week by sweeping a doubleheader against Ortonville Monday night.

After losing their last three games, the Chargers beat the Trojans 4-3 and 5-1 on the road.

"We got another quality start from Zack Haugen in game one," B-E head coach Brian Perleberg said. "Tony Schaffran also pitched a complete game two and picked up his fourth win of the year."

In game one, the game was tied 1-1 heading into the last inning. Ortonville had a clutch hit with two outs to drive in two runs and take the lead. However, Tanner Bitzan responded with a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the frame to come away with the win.

"It was a really exciting finish and I'm happy for the kids as they never gave in and battled until the end," Perleberg said.

The two wins snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Chargers dropped both games in a doubleheader with Border West last Thursday. The following day, B-E fell to Hancock 3-1. The Chargers will look to extend their win streak on Thursday when they take on conference rival Parkers Prairie.
