Alexandria's Zimney Insurance American Legion Post 87 baseball team is off to a 1-1 start after a split with Perhman on Tuesday night.

Despite tallying just four hits in game two, Alexandria's two-run top of the seventh inning was enough to pull out a 3-2 win.

With two outs, Reid Reisdorf reached base with a single before J.D. Hennen was hit by a pitch. Devin Cimbura stroked a double into left-center field to take a late one-run lead. Nate Knoll had Alexandria's other RBI in the top of the second with a groundout.

While the bats went cold, starting pitcher Parker Jendro was hot. He threw a complete game to get his first win of the summer. In 99 pitches, he struck out five batters and allowed just three hits. Neither of his two runs allowed were earned.

Alexandria's win earned a split in the doubleheader. Perham walked away with a game-one 6-1 victory. Alexandria allowed just two hits, but both were costly. Perham put together back-to-back three-run innings– highlighted by a three-run home run in the top of the fourth.

Hennen threw four innings and allowed two earned runs before Connor Lerfald came in relief in the fifth. He allowed one earned run on one hit.

Integrity Title starts 4-4

Alexandria's Integrity Title Junior Legion Black baseball team dropped to 4-4 on the season after falling in both games of Tuesday's home doubleheader.

Bemidji escaped with a 9-8 game-two win following its 12-5 victory in game one. Alexandria's Tyler Kludt went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Cole Vatnsdal and Auggie Gulbranson each had a pair of hits, with Gulbranson driving in three runs.

Scout Schoenrock started for Alexandria on the mound and lasted 1.2 innings. Matthew Hornstein came in for relief and allowed four hits and two earned runs in 3.1 innings. Jake Westpahll pitched the sixth and allowed two earned runs.

Reds split with Fergus

Alexandria's Soderholm Insurance and Oral Surgery Junior Legion Red baseball team came away with a 9-4 win over Fergus Falls in game two on Tuesday to split the doubleheader.

After dropping game one 7-5, the Alexandria bats came alive for nine runs on nine hits in game two. Sawyor Ruhmor, Ben Scott and Brady Swensrud each had multi-hit games. Ruhmor drove in Alexandria's four earned runs with a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Cameron Simon started on the mound and threw four innings without an earned run. He struck out five batters and walked on before Corbin Farrow pitched the fifth and final inning.

Alexandria is 9-2 this season after winning its first five games of the season.
