Kepler was activated from the injured list on Saturday after his pain turned from unbearable to manageable and the Twins sent Mark Contreras down as the corresponding move.
The wild win came after the Twins were unable to capitalize on leadoff doubles in both the seventh and eighth innings, leaving the door open for the Blue Jays to get back into the game.
The Twins traded the reliever to San Diego a day before the season started, receiving starter Chris Paddack, who has subsequently had Tommy John surgery, and reliever Emilio Págan in return.
Upgrades are in the works at Knute Nelson Memorial Park, Dean Melton/Fillmore Park and 14 school district fields, including the Alexandria High School Softball Complex.
