Alexandria got a road Section 8-3A sweep in Sauk Rapids-Rice on Thursday as the Cardinals, Detroit Lakes and Rocori sit close together in the section standings with the playoffs looming.
Alexandria swept rival Sartell-St. Stephen on Thursday, while Brandon-Evansville increased its winning streak to four and Ashby lost some close sets to Battle Lake in a 3-1 loss.

BARRETT – The West Central Area volleyball team had a tough battle with the BOLD Warriors on Thursday, who are the 7th ranked team in the Class A QRF rankings on Minnesota-scores.net.
Zackery Bruder had a seventh-place finish individually as the Silverstreaks finished fourth as a team. Ashby-Brandon-Evansville and Parkers Prairie also field varsity teams in the boys race.
