Alexandria's Junior Legion Black team outscores Perham 20-0 in doubleheader sweep

A big fourth inning in game one propels Alexandria’s Integrity Title Junior Legion Black baseball team to an easy sweep of Perham before heading to Sioux Falls for a weekend tournament.

Alexandria’s Integrity Title Junior Legion Black baseball team made up of players going into their junior years of high school next fall rolled over Perham in a doubleheader sweep on Monday.

Alexandria won both games by 10-0 finals. The first one lasted just five innings, and game two went six frames before Alexandria closed things out.

Alexandria opened the floodgates with a big fourth inning in game one that broke a scoreless tie and set the tone for the night. Nick Levassuer and Spencer Schmidt each had 2-run doubles in the inning. Schmidt also got the win on the mound.

The Junior Blacks are 7-8 overall this summer. That includes a win over a senior legion team from Blaine and another close loss to a senior legion team from Ham Lake.

Alexandria now heads to Sioux Falls, S.D. for a weekend tournament June 25-27.
