The Alexandria boys tennis team left no doubt in Moorhead on Monday afternoon in its 7-0 sweep of the Spuds.
Jacob Partington cruised in the No. 1 singles match over Ives Hilgers 6-1, 6-3. Landon Schabel, Aaron Jost and Cole Haabala also picked up two-set singles victories.
“Jacob Partington played one of his best matches at first singles and defeated a very solid player in straight sets,” Alexandria head coach Dave Ronning said.
Gannon Lueck and Pieter Mulder beat Adam Pettys and Oscar Bergeson 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 1 doubles match. Dylan Nelson and Owen Gilbertson dropped only two games in the second doubles slot, while Tyler Jabas and Brennan Lattimer beat Mason and Ben Voxlund 6-1, 6-0.
“Gannon and Pieter Cruised in the first set, fell behind in the second set but came up with some strategies that put their opponents on their heels to win 6-4,” Ronning said.
