The Alexandria girls swimming and diving team is 4-0 after another easy win on Tuesday night as the Cardinals now get set to welcome in rival Sartell-St. Stephen on Thursday night at 6.

Alexandria beat St. Cloud Tech in a 111-73 final on Tuesday. The Cardinals have yet to be tested down to the final events this season, and they made sure it wouldn’t happen against the Tigers as Alexandria’s Sidney Johnson, Jisella Haskamp, Alaina Guenther and Grace Urke won the opening race in the 200-medley relay.

That was part of 10 first-place finishes for the Cardinals. Julia Wilmesmeier (200 free, 500 free), Grace Urke (200 IM, 100 breaststroke), Erica Johnson (diving), Hattie Galloway (100 free), and Johnson (100 backstroke) had individual wins, while the 200 and 400-freestyle teams made it a clean sweep in the relays, as well.

The Tigers had gotten off to a good start with a 2-0 record coming into Tuesday. Alexandria will now put its 4-0 record on the line against another top team in the Central Lakes Conference when Sartell (2-0 as of Sept. 14) comes to Discovery Middle School on Thursday.

The Sabres are not in Alexandria’s section anymore , but Thursday’s matchup should be a good early-season matchup for each of these teams that hope to be competitive during the postseason meets.
