Alexandria gets No. 1 seed in Section 8-2A Tournament

The Cardinals open up play on May 26 at home after earning a first-round bye with an 18-2 regular season.

The Alexandria boys tennis team is the No. 1 seed in the Section 8-2A Tournament that gets started on May 24.

The Cardinals, who went 18-2 through the regular season, get a first-round bye and will play the winner of No. 4-seeded Detroit Lakes and fifth-seeded Sartell on May 26 at 4:30 p.m. in Alexandria during the quarterfinals.

The section semifinals and finals are scheduled for June 2, with semifinal games being played at noon that day and the championship following at 4 p.m. at St. Cloud Tech.


NORTH SUBSECTION - 1. Alexandria; 2. Bemidji; 3. Brainerd; 4. Detroit Lakes; 5. Sartell; 6. Moorhead


SOUTH SUBSECTION - 1. Becker; 2. St. Cloud Tech; 3. Monticello; 4. St. Cloud Apollo/SRR; 5. Willmar; 6. Big Lake
