The Alexandria dance team had a dual in Melrose on Tuesday night and came back with varsity wins in the high kick and jazz routines against the Dutchmen.

The Cardinals had a ranking point total of 2 in jazz and kick.

“The team had a strong jazz performance, and they worked towards nailing their turn sequences,” Alexandria head coach Kassandra Gibbons said. “The kick routine was the strongest it has ever been thus far with higher kicks and more energy. (Freshman) Abby Stender stepped in for an injured dancer, filling a hole that needed to be filled.”

The dual at Melrose was a prelude to the Central Lakes Championship this Friday when the Cardinals go to Sartell High School at 7 p.m.
