Alexandria dance first in kick, second in jazz at Willmar Invite

The Cardinals edged ROCORI in the high kick competition, while the Spartans did the same to Alexandria in jazz.

The Alexandria dance team went to Willmar on Friday and got a first-place finish in kick and a second-place finish in jazz.

The Cardinals won the six-team high-kick competition with a ranking point total of 4. That was just in front of ROCORI (6) in second place, while New London-Spicer was third (9).

The roles were reversed in the jazz competition where ROCORI took first place (3) and the Cardinals were second (6). Willmar rounded out the top three (10) in that division.

Alexandria will host its biggest home invite of the season next as the Cardinals welcome in a full field of teams on Jan. 8 starting at 9 a.m. from Alexandria Area High School.
