Alexandria boys' track and field: Cardinals pick up three firsts in CLC indoor

Mitch Peck, Zac Bartolomeo and Chase Duwenhoegger each picked up an individual championship as the Cardinal boys' track and field team finished fourth overall at the Central Lakes Conference Indoor championships Saturday.

Peck claimed top honors in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.78, and Bartolomeo topped the field in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.97, nearly six seconds faster than the second place time.

"Mitch placed in multiple events," said head coach Mike Empting, "including running a leg on the 4x400 relay that placed second."

Peck ran with Nathan Huss, James Holmquist and Bartoloemo in that relay that finished in 3:42.41.

Duwenhoegger won the shot put title with a toss of 46'2.5", more than a foot further than the second place throw. This was the second consecutive meet in which Duwenhoegger has taken first.
