The Alexandria Red VFW baseball team earned a 2-1 win over Starbuck in the opening round of the District 5 tournament.
Alexandria got one run in the opening inning, and added another in the top of the fourth before Starbuck scored its only run in the bottom of that inning.
Jordan Hirsch picked up the pitching win as he struck out six.
Alexandria, seeded No. 5, will now face Willmar, the No. 1 seed, in the semifinals tomorrow, Friday, at 5 p.m. in Benson.
