The Alexandria softball team had no problem scoring runs in its trip to Fergus Falls Tuesday afternoon.

The Cardinals had 23 runners cross home plate and had 24 hits between the two games. The Cardinals took the first game 12-9 - scoring a run in every inning. Sydney Christenson went 4-for-5 with three RBIs. Sydney Drew had three hits and an RBI. Autumn Botz was 3-for-4 and drove in two runs.

The score was tied 8-8 heading into the fifth inning before the Cardinals retook the lead after an infield error. Alexandria added another run in the top of the sixth. Drew scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch.

The Cardinals made quick work of the Otters in game two with an 11-1 win.

Alexandria's offense was powered by another strong game from Christenson. She went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Carly Burns also had a pair of RBIs with a third-inning double.

The Cardinals are now 8-8 heading into the last leg of their season. They will host a doubleheader with St. Cloud Tech Thursday night.
