Adapted Bowling: Alexandria will send 22 bowlers to state on Friday
The Alexandria adapted bowling team is gearing up for the state tournament on Friday. After another impressive season, head coach Wade Traphagen is sending 22 Cardinals to the state meet at the Brunswick Zone in Brooklyn Park.
"We've got some bowlers peaking at the right time, and will be well represented again at the state tournament this year," Traphagen said. "Every year we see bowlers thrive under pressure and step up their game to the next level at the state tournament. They bowl their best scores of the season. It comes down to being mentally prepared for this large stage."
A year ago, the Cardinals had eight top 10 finishers at the state tournament including two first place finishes. Crystal Krohnfeldt took the top spot in the CI Girls Singles division with a 457 score. The team of Brendan Fuoss, Ty Berg, Joe Mello and Marcus Decker collectively bowled a 1,685 to take first in the ASD Team division.
"We hope to build off of the success that we had last year at the tournament," Traphagen said. We want to keep raising the bar and making memories in the process."
