Skaters compete at Fergus Falls ahead of Battle of the Blades

Members of the Alexandria Figure Skating Club braved some winter weather on March 8 and 9 to compete in Fergus Falls in the fourth of five competitions in the Central Minnesota Series.

Skaters from 16 clubs across Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota took part in the event. The club also hosted an official US Figure Skating Test session. Alexandria Figure Skating Club member Abigail Nelson passed the pre-preliminary free skate test.

Among Alexandria skaters competing in the Central Minnesota Series in Fergus Falls, Elsa Fosso and Emma Fosso each brought home first-place finishes in different categories.

The competition series concludes this Saturday, March 16, with Alexandria hosting the Battle of the Blades at the Runestone Community Center. The competition starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends in the late afternoon. There is no charge for admission and the public is welcome to attend.
