Nordic ski: Alex girls third, boys sixth at Maplelag

The Alexandria Nordic ski teams went to Callaway to ski at Maplelag and the Detroit Lakes Invite on Thursday as the boys finished sixth and the girls took third.

Bemidji won the girls race with 389 points, while Brainerd took second at 361. Alexandria finished with 353 and Little Falls was not far behind at 345.

Alexandria had three top-10 individual finishers, led by Kaisa Bosek in fifth place with a total time of 30:25.4. Stormy Hegg was sixth (30:31.1) and Bethany Miller eighth (30:34.5). Kamryn Coauette rounded out the team scoring with a 32nd-place finish (34:44.8).

Dulce Bakker was 37th overall in a time of 36:01.1. Cameo Neumann (47th, 39.07.5), Lauren Englund (48, 39:20.9), Laura Wilmesmeier (49th, 39:27.8), Amanda Bittmann (51st, 39:35.4) and Greta Urke (53rd, 40:09.3) rounded out Alexandria’s lineup.

The Alexandria boys finished with 264 points, while Bemidji won the meet with 382. Little Falls (380) and Moorhead (366) rounded out the top three teams.

Noah Struck paced the Cardinals in 13th place overall with a time of 26:50.8. Ryker Bosek was 41st in 30:40.8, Brian Denke was 42nd in 30:44.9 and Bjorn Karlstad rounded out the team scoring with a 44th-place finish in 31:20.1. Sam Maier (50th, 33:07), Jack Struck (51st, 33:08.8) and Spencer Johnson (56th, 35:44.4) finished off the lineup.
