Brainerd’s Josie Kramer scored the only goal of the game in overtime in some cold and wet conditions in Alexandria on Monday night as both teams wrapped up the regular season.

The Warriors’ 1-0 win improved them to 12-3 on the season and put the finishing touches on the Central Lakes Conference title for them with a perfect 10-0 league mark.

Brainerd’s Molly Rudolph posted the shutout with 10 saves, while Alexandria’s Sophia Vinje faced 12 shots on goal and took the tough-luck loss.

Alexandria finished third in the CLC this season at 7-4. The Cardinals will likely host Fergus Falls on Thursday at 4 p.m., according to brackets on the Minnesota State High School League website. The Section 8A Tournament will be officially seeded on Oct. 10, but Alexandria (7-8-1) has a hold on the fourth seed in the North subsection through Minnesota-scores.net, as does Fergus Falls (6-8-2) with the fifth seed.

The winner of that game will play again on Saturday at the high seed against the winner of top-seeded Bemidji (10-4-2) and eighth-seeded Crookston (1-14-1).
