The Minnewaska boys basketball team jumped out ahead of the Jaguars in Brooten on Friday night and carried that lead through to a 62-50 finish.
This victory extends the Lakers’ winning streak to six games in a row for a 15-5 overall record.
Senior Matt Gruber led the scoring charge with 18 points against B-B-E (8-13). Senior Jackson Johnsrud followed with 13 points of his own and junior Jack Blevins and senior Garrett Jensen chipped in nine each.
The Lakers shot at 58 percent (24-of-41) from the field. They hit 50 percent from outside the three and the 44 percent from the line.
Next up for Minnewaska is a trip to Benson for a Section 3, Class AA, West Central Conference game Feb. 13. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
