Starting June 1, UCare Connect, UCare’s Special Needs BasicCare plan for adults (age 18-64) with certified disabilities, will serve individuals in a total of 65 counties – with the addition of Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties.

After these three counties exited the South Country Health Alliance plan last year, the Minnesota Department of Human Services invited UCare to enter them as a health plan option for those losing their SCHA plan. UCare is one of two plans available to approximately 760 former SCHA members.

UCare, a community-based, nonprofit health plan, serves 12,198 members in these three counties. UCare plans available in the area include individual and family MNsure plans, Medicare, MinnesotaCare, Minnesota Senior Care Plus, Minnesota Senior Health Options and Prepaid Medical Assistance Program.

UCare Connect covers health care services for adults aged 18-64 with a certified disability who have Medical Assistance and live in the service area.
