Osakis Boy Scout earns eagle award

Jason Sommars of Osakis was awarded his Eagle Scout award on Sunday, Sept. 20.

For his service project, Sommars remodeled one of the bathrooms at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Osakis, making it accessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Eagle Scout ceremony was also held at Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Tim Peterson, Boy Scouts commissioner attended the ceremony.

Sommars is the son of Greg and Laura Sommars of Osakis. Jason is a senior at Osakis High School and has been involved with Scouts since first grade.
