To the editor:
Big thumbs down to our U.S. Post Office! Yesterday (Nov. 21) — no mail delivery at all. Almost worst, my outgoing mail wasn't picked up. I used to get mail about 1:30-2 p.m. It's been getting later and later until the past two weeks when it's been 7-8 p.m. and some days, not at all, like yesterday.
What's going to happen when get busy with the Christmas rush of cards and packages? Also, six weeks ago, a box was mailed to me from the Cities from a brother. Eleven days later, exactly, he called and asked why I hadn't called to explain my likes or dislikes of the package and I said I hadn't gotten anything from him. Two weeks later, the box came back to him with a strip of tape saying, "No forwarding address — undeliverable." So he got it back.
He showed it to his postmaster and he said, "Someone in Alexandria is asleep at the wheel." I tend to agree.
They raise the postal rates and the service gets worse.
Oh, I live in town and have been at this address 52 years. I'm just saying...
