To the editor:

The letter from Mr. Jim Korkowski last week ("Wake up America! Remember what Biden told us") definitely needs an answer.

I am a pro-life Democrat. Let's review the Roe v. Wade law. It was put into effect under a Republican president, Richard Nixon, and a total of five Republican presidents have done nothing about it even when they had the House, Senate and presidency for several years, like the first two years of the Trump era.

Is it because there are numerous Republicans who do not want it overturned? While running for office, George W. Bush promised he would overturn Roe v. Wade as soon as elected. After he was sworn in, he was asked if he was going to work to overturn it, and he said he wouldn't touch that with a 10-foot pole!

Trump is NOT pro life; his first wife had two abortions and his second wife, one. If you recall in Trump's town hall meeting a few weeks ago when the moderator asked if he would like his newly appointed Supreme Court judge to work on overturning Roe v. Wade, he didn't answer her.

Very unfortunately, Republicans profess to be pro life but in reality they are only pro birth, often not caring if the newborn has proper nutrition, voting against Early Childhood Education when it's proven to be essential, stripping children from their parents and now over 660 for whom they can't reunite with their parents. Additionally/regrettably, the elderly are often forgotten/dispensable by the Republicans.
