To the editor:

I want to thank everyone for the support provided to my congregations and my family when I mobilized with the Minnesota National Guard.

First, I want to thank Helping Hands for the wonderful basket gifts. They brought a bright smile to our faces. Second, I want to thank my congregations of Our Saviour’s Lutheran and Fahlun Lutheran in Nelson for their prayers and support for me. Third, I want to personally thank Pastor Nate Hanson of Living Word Lutheran, Pastor AJ Kluver of St. John’s Lutheran in Starbuck, Pastor Tim Peterson of Mount Carmel, and Joel Dahlheimer for their worship support while away.

Such support from the community reminds me of why I enjoy calling Douglas County home. Finally, in the aftermath of the events of the past week, I pray that God’s reign may come so that we all work together for racial justice and equality. After all, God calls each of us to be “our brother’s keeper.”
