To the editor:

When the intersection of 50th Avenue and Highway 29 was redone, they made a huge mistake. They should have eliminated access to Twin Lake Blvd from the west bound lane of 50th Avenue.

This intersection is a source of much confusion and frustration for nearly all drivers involved. We have drivers merging from Highway 29 North that hold up traffic trying to turn left onto the Blvd, and a dangerous situation in which drivers in the Highway 29 southbound turn lane are leaving space for that turning traffic when the eastbound lane of 50th is flowing with traffic.

It was a mistake leaving this access open. It should be closed by elongating the cement median past the intersection. Then the only remaining frustration will be those who continue to yield when merging onto 50th from northbound Highway 29.
