Letter to the Editor: Be mindful of trail use this winter
To the editor:
If you are out and about this winter and enjoying the many great places that the Alexandria area has to offer, please be mindful that cross-country skiing trails are for skiers only (unless otherwise marked).
It is a lot of work to groom and maintain a ski trail, so any type of traffic besides skiing may harm the trail. In the same way that a chip in the ice can trip a hockey player, shoe/boot prints on a ski trail can give someone a really bad day.
So whether you are at Andes Tower Hills, Kensington County Park, Lake Carlos State Park, Discovery Middle School or somewhere else, please be mindful of the trail, or better yet, give skiing a try!
