Letter to the Editor: VA - an unwieldy giant of bureaucracy
To the editor:
In the past 10-20 years, under various administrations, Veterans Affairs has come under fire for not providing the service it should to our veterans. That's a fact, revealed by various investigations, whistle blowers, etc.
Here's a recent revelation I hadn't heard about: 430 doctors, nurses and LPNs, work for the VA and draw their salaries from the federal government, but do not provide a service to our veterans. What do they do? They work on union issues.
Your tax dollars at work. The unwieldy giant of government bureaucracy has the underlying beast of the federal unions to serve. It's another reason the richest counties in our nation surround Washington D.C.
