There are certain insignificant things about this job that I remember so vividly for reasons I can't explain.
I can recall the exact spot in the Runestone Community Center I was at when East Grand Forks scored its third goal of the afternoon in a regular-season boys hockey game last year. I remember the waiting period before the section championship tennis match I covered two years ago more than some of the matches themselves.
There's one thing that Eric Morken, the sports editor, told me before covering my first baseball game in Brandon-Evansville in 2019. He told me to dress warm because it's always going to be colder than you think it's going to be.
I brushed it off because I'm a Minnesotan, and I was born in the elements. "No regrets," I regrettably said in my head as I couldn't feel my fingers in the second inning. Eric was right. It was pretty dang cold that day.
Sometimes it doesn't matter how many layers you wear to a game. Tuesday night at Knute Nelson Baseball Field was one of those games. Alexandria had a doubleheader against Apollo, and midway through the third inning, all I could think about was how cold I was. That's not to say I wanted to be anywhere else because it was a great two-game set between conference rivals, but the cold started to outweigh the games.

This doesn't have to do a whole lot with the movie I'm reviewing today, but I think this is one of my favorite times of the year to be in the theater. Thankfully, "Nobody" is an excellent movie to see to kill some time.
"Nobody" is part of the new wave of self-aware action movies that understand the audience it serves. Much like "Godzilla vs. Kong," "Nobody" is a shut-your-brain-off movie that just rules. Bob Odenkirk, formerly of "Breaking Bad" fame, stars in a blast of an action movie.
Hutch, played by Odenkirk, refuses to take a swing at two thieves who broke into his house. After pushback from friends, family and coworkers, he slips back into his former hit-man state of mind to take down a Russian mob.
I know what you're thinking. You're right, this does sound really stupid, and it kind of is. But the purpose of "Nobody" isn't to knock your socks off with some knock-out plot. You're there to watch Odenkirk kick the life out of some bad guys. "Nobody's" action sequences are a lot of fun to go with a killer soundtrack.
The best way I can describe this movie is it's a cheesier "John Wick" with better music. The John Wick trilogy is one of my all-time favorites of the last decade. I think Keanu Reeves is an absolute delight on screen, and I left with the same reaction from Odenkirk.
I'm giving "Nobody" a 77/100. I think it could be even better if they make a sequel. Where it falls off is in how graphic it felt. The blood and death felt like it was a little too much at times. If you're not into a lot of explicit action content, this isn't the movie for you. But if you don't mind the goriness, give it a watch. I think you'll have a pretty good time.
