Ramona Joy (Smith) Wright

Ramona passed into heaven with family at her bedside. Born March 5, 1930 in Olivia, MN and passed November 24, 2021 in Alexandria.
Ramona was the daughter of Ora and Edith (Mallard) Smith of Renville. She earned her teaching certificate and taught a number of years in rural schools. She married the love of her life, Helmer F. Wright, on April 18, 1949 at 1st Lutheran Church, Lake Lillian, MN. Ramona & Helmer had 5 children, Helmer (Jean) of Alexandria, Nathan (Mary) of Phoenix, AZ, Jeff (Kathy) Tulsa, OK, Candice of Osakis, and Karen (Ron) Propeck of Bemidji. She loved gardening, flowers, playing games and spending time with her 17 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
Ramona spent the largest part of married life on the family farm near Osakis. She was an avid cook, reader and writer, and lover of family and friends. Ramona was full of life and had a wonderful sense of humor. She had a long and loving relationship with Jesus, always praying for her children and grandchildren to know Him as Lord and Savior.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband and baby daughter Wright. She was anxious to see them in heaven. She is survived by her children, many grand and great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces. She will be laid to rest at Fort Ripley National Cemetery with her husband.
The family has scheduled a Life Celebration for summer 2022 when family and friends will gather to celebrate her wonderful life.
