Kathryn (Kay) Beckett

Kathryn (Kay) Paulette (Larson) Beckett was born on Nov. 1, 1949 to Ralph and Alberta (Haugen) Larson in Alexandria, Mn. She was the youngest of three children. Kay, 73, passed away on Jan. 27, 2023 from cancer.  Kay graduated from Jefferson Sr High School, Alexandria in 1968. She attended Bemidji State, Bemidji, Mn, receiving a degree in Elementary Educ in 1972. She met the love of her life, Glen Beckett, from Winnipeg, Canada at Bemidji State. Kay and Glen were married at First Lutheran Church, Alexandria on Aug. 14, 1971. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2021. Their first home was Minneapolis, Mn. In 1985, they moved to Gilbert, Az where they lived for the rest of their lives. Kay was generous, kind and loyal. She loved Glen, family, high school friends and every person she made friends with during her life. Disney World was Kay and Glen’s special place. They vacationed there every year for many years. They also enjoyed all genres of music and attending concerts. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved parents and two brothers, Larry and Mark. She will be greatly missed by her sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and close high school friends. Sadly, Kay’s loving husband, Glen, succumbed to pneumonia on Feb. 14, 2023. It was fitting they were reunited in heaven on Valentine’s Day. Glen, 75, was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gordy. Glen will be greatly missed by his family in Canada and friends in Minnesota. A memorial service for Kay and Glen is planned this summer in Mn.
