Carol (Van Sistine) Holsten

Carol (Van Sistine) Holsten passed away unexpectedly at her home in Redding, CA on November 3, 2022. Carol was born on July 17, 1953 in Green Bay, WI to John E. “Ed” and Elaine “Pete” (Cota) Van Sistine. Carol met her future husband, Steven Holsten, at a blind date pool party in Milwaukee, WI in 1976 and they were married on November 3, 1979. Carol earned a BSN RN degree at U.W. Oshkosh and was an RN for several years. Carol and Steve also owned and operated a couple of businesses in California. Carol is survived by her husband of 43 years, Steven Holsten; her brother Pete “PJ” Van Sistine and sister-in-law Jean Van Sistine of De Pere, WI; her nephew Tyler Van Sistine of Appleton, WI; her niece Heidi Van Sistine of De Pere, WI; her brother-in-law John Holsten and his wife Sheryl Holsten of Alexandria, MN. She is also survived by many friends and family in Redding, CA and De Pere, WI. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Pete Van Sistine. She was well known in Redding for her daily morning walks, rain or shine, and her afternoon bicycle rides to run her daily errands. Jigsaw puzzles in front of the TV with her husband was the winding down routine in the evenings. Carol will be missed by all who knew her. At her request, no funeral service will be held.
