James Reber

James Leo Reber, 82, entered the world on 10/1/1938. Jim was the 10th of 12 children born to Frank and Marie Reber at home in St. Joseph, MN where he spent his childhood.

Jim suddenly and unexpectedly left this world on Friday 2/19/21 at his home on Steamboat Lake. Jim was a dearly loved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend, and employer who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

After graduating in 1957 from Tech High School in St. Cloud, he attended MN State College. After college Jim and his wife Beth (deceased 2007) and in 1987 moved to NE Mpls where he worked at various companies.

Jim moved his young family to Alexandria, MN where he fulfilled his dream of starting his own business in 1987. His company, West Central Metal Fabrication, Inc. is still a successful business run by his daughter LeeAnn.

After retiring, Jim and his second wife Carol moved permanently to Steamboat Lake where they enjoyed lake life.

Jim was a generous, kind, hard-working, quick-witted, LOL-funny man who loved fishing, duck and deer hunting and Polka music.

Survived by adoring wife Carol Kummer, daughters: LeeAnn (Tony) Petro, Teri Morley, son Lyndon (Lyn) Reber, Grandchildren: Nick, Adam, Jimmy and Ally, twins Cassie and Cristie, Brandon and great grandson Jack. Step-children: Michelle (Kevin Foster) Thorson, Greg (Carla) Kummer, step-grandchildren. Jim has two surviving siblings: Dennis Reber and Judy Mihan and many other dear family and friends.

A remembrance/open house will be held on Saturday 2/27/21 at the Eagles Aerie #351, 1270 Neilson Ave., Bemidji, MN 56601 from 1 to 5pm. Food will be provided and all Covid-19 protocols will be followed.

Memorials preferred to the Great River Rescue Animal Shelter: 1612 Carr Lake Rd. SE, Bemidji, MN 56601, or the Eagles Aerie #351.  Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
