Kathryn Francis Patrick

Kathryn (Kathy) Patrick, age 74, of Alexandria passed away in her home on Friday, February 12, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her family.

Kathy was born May 31, 1946 at the Lady of Mercy Hospital to Frank and Martha (Prchal) Pronek. She grew up on the family farm south of Alexandria, attended country school District 94 and graduated from Jefferson Sr. High in 1964. She married Gerald L. Patrick on January 8th, 1966. They bought their farm in Hudson Township in 1971 and were blessed with seven children.

Along with raising her own children, there were countless others that considered the farm a second home. As well as working on the farm, she also had part-time employment at Bethany and Knute Nelson nursing homes, J&V Liquor and retired from ITW Heartland in 2002.

Kathy enjoyed gardening and canned much of the produce, which she generously shared with family and friends. She found much joy feeding and watching the birds, with humming birds being her favorite. Her family meant everything to her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Kathryn loved the Lord and was a life-long member of St. John Nepumuk Church in Lowry, MN. She was a self-less woman who always put others before herself.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Martha (Babe) Toop and RoseAnn Minks. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jerry. Her children, Kimberly (Ryan) Colbjornsen, Jackie (Eugene) Edmond, Brent (Kasey LaSota), Marty (Chas Atkinson), Bradley (Carrie), Chad (Melissa), and Stacey Patrick. 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, with two more on the way. Brother Frank (Irene) Pronek and many more relatives.

There will be a Mass, followed by a Celebration of Life, planned for later this spring.
