Carolyn Tvrdik was born October 22, 1941, in Glenwood, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Nemec Tvrdik. She graduated from Central High School in Alexandria, MN, and attended the Minneapolis Institute of Art, where she received an Associate of Arts degree in fabric design. After graduation, she entered what she called the “rag trade” at Steven’s Fabrics in Minneapolis, where her job entailed helping customers select drapery and general fabrics for home design and she was also a buyer for the company. She retired in 2001 and moved to Louisiana, Missouri, where she helped start a nursery business. While living in Louisiana, Missouri, Carolyn enjoyed her many friends in Herb Club, Garden Club, and numerous other organizations.
Carolyn passed away unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.
Carolyn is survived by two sisters, Judith Steidl of Miltona, MN and Marlene Mersy of Little Falls, MN, and a special brother, Vern Tvrdik of Alexandria, MN, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
