Calvin John Olson passed away on May 1st, 2020 at the age of 60. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his Mother Joanne Olson of Alexandria, his sons Blake (Michelle) Olson of Farwell, Bryce Olson of Alexandria, his grandchildren Daniel and Eddie Olson, his sisters Carol (Frank) Anderson of Mpls, Donna (Reggie) Stark of Moorhead, brother Douglas (Kari) Olson of Hoffman, former spouse, Lori Johanson-Condon of Alexandria, and multiple cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calvin was preceded in death by his father, Donald, his brother, Daniel, grandparents, aunts, uncles and companion dogs: Sam, Bear, Polar and Jackson.
Calvin was born on June 17th, 1959, the son of Donald and Joanne (Rudell) Olson. He grew up on the homesteaded Olson farm near Farwell.
He graduated from Kensington High School in 1977. During his time in high school he loved and excelled in sports. Calvin, his Dad and brothers all loved baseball and played for a local team for many years.
Calvin worked for 30 years as a highly skilled machinist at Douglas Machines in Alexandria.
The family wishes to thank Douglas Machines for the support they offered to Calvin and his family.
Calvin loved the outdoors. The annual deer camp, hunting and fishing openers were a highlight for him. He shared his love with his two sons, Blake and Bryce.
Calvin formed many friendships. He will always be remembered as a generous and thoughtful son and father, grandfather, brother and nephew.
We thank the Bethany Long Term Care Facility and Douglas County Hospice for the care you gave Calvin and his family.
As Calvin was an avid sportsman, there was a private family burial May 9th, Fishing Opener.
