Valentina Alcorn, 93, of Long Prairie, passed away on November 11, 2019 at Bethany On the Lake in Alexandria. Funeral services for Val will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at the Peace United Church in Long Prairie with Pastor David Sorrel officiating. Burial will be held at St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Clarissa.
Val was born November 8, 1926, in Sutherland, Iowa. She married Robert Alcorn on August 30, 1945 in Spencer, Iowa. They moved to Long Prairie on September 1, 1979. Val worked various jobs over the years. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins and playing Wii bowling at the Windmill Ponds Assisted Living in Alexandria where she has lived for the last several years.
Val is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob, grandson Dylan; siblings: Darrell Rausch, Roy Rausch Jr., Wendell Rausch and Judy Petitt.
Val is survived by her daughter Donna (Ken Gustafson) Berry; grandchildren: Megan (Chris Willander) Berry, Mariah (Tim) Lysfjord, great granddaughter Violet Willander; siblings: Dixie Decker and Thomas Rausch, many nieces and nephews, and the families of Boyd and Devona Berry.
