Judith “Judy” Gease
Judith (Judy) Gease was born September 17th, 1944 in New Prague, MN to William and Marie Heine. She graduated from New Prague High School in 1962. Following her education, Judy moved away to Minneapolis, MN and made lifelong friendships. This is where she met the love of her life, Gary Gease. The couple married on February 14th, 1969 at Frieden’s Lutheran Church in New Prague, MN. It was a small intimate and very wintery ceremony with their parents and Judy’s brother and wife. Together they made their home at Gary’s Lake Miltona cabin in Alexandria, MN. They spent 50 years together on the lake raising their two children, Suzanne (Suzie, Sue) and Todd and creating many wonderful memories. Judy was an amazing role model as a working mother and devoted church volunteer. She worked at Alexandria Light & Power until her retirement, making many friends and desserts to share.
Judy’s biggest joys in life were her family, church, traveling and stitching (not necessarily in that order).
In 2019, Judy and Gary moved off the Lake into the Arabella Manor senior community. Sadly, shortly after that move she started experiencing some nagging health issues, which in the end took a toll on her heart condition she managed for over 15 years.
Judy passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Alexandria Hospital at the age of 76 years old. She is survived by husband Gary, their children Sue (Paul) Schelonka of Eagan, MN and Todd (Melanie) Gease of Jackson Springs, NC; six grandchildren: Ann (2002), Devin (2002), Emma (2003), Sara (2004), McKenna (2005), Camden (2008) and her siblings Louise (Elmer) Mattila and Wilfred (Carol) Heine.
