He was born Oct. 23, 1950, in Thief River Falls, MN to Ray and Edith (Anderson) Rambeck. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Moorhead State.
On Sept. 14, 1974, he was united in marriage to Joanne Johnson at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Virginia, MN.

John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading books, listening to music, technology, winters in Florida, the family pets, boating, fishing (if they were biting), and time at his cabin. Most recently, he enjoyed following all of Simon and Archer’s endeavors including school, sports and chess. He was a proud and supportive father and grandfather, always there to cheer at sporting events and extracurricular activities or to offer his often solicited advice on anything from house projects, the latest tech, to life in general.
