Duane Charles Rostad was born April 11th, 1969 to parents Lorn Dewayne Rostad and Carolyn “Sue” Rostad (Aylesworth) at Glenwood Hospital, Glenwood Minnesota. Duane’s early life was spent on their farm in Glenwood. He went on to study Political Science at Morris State University. Upon completion of his degree, he pursued a second passion of his; food. Duane loved to cook and did so at various Alexandria restaurants including Arrowwood Resort, where he met his future wife, Sue. From this union his only daughter, Hailey, was born. Duane pursued this career path further and eventually went on to own and operate Culver’s in Alexandria. Duane was an active member in the community from his involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, his volunteer work at the Douglas County Jail, and coaching his daughter’s summer soccer league. In 2015 Duane made the 1500 mile trek to North Port, Florida where he would go on to open another Culver’s store. In his recent years he passed the time in the Florida sunshine, fishing, all day, every Sunday. Duane passed peacefully in his home. His love for Lefse and Lutefisk lives on through those surviving Duane in death; Daughter, Hailey Rostad of Alexandria (25), Sister, Kristi (Bob) Rostad Wilson, and Nephew Brian Wilson. He is preceded in death by parents Lorn Dewayne Rostad and Carolyn “Sue” Rostad (Aylesworth). As well as many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
