Donovan Duwayne Nelson

Donovan Duwayne Nelson son of Joan (Brede) Tweet & Duwayne Nelson was born in Alexandria MN. on September 30th 1956. Donovan grew up & graduated from high school in Alexandria MN. In 1974 Donovan joined the Army where he had the opportunity to travel to Germany & obtain several certificates of accomplishments. Returning to the states making Alexandria his home, Donovan got his certificate of mechanics at the Alexandria Technical College. Pouring “Gray Gold” was his passion & cement finishing was a craft that he perfected all over the Alexandria area for over 35 years.

1986 Donovan married & had three children. Donovan found much joy in spending time with his children & stepchildren. His joy in his grandchildren was apparent by the smile on his face when he told you about them.

Donovan passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo N.D. on Saturday August 29th at 10:20 P.M. at the age of 64.

Donovan was survived by his 5 children. Sons, Jacob Nelson of Alexandria MN., Michael Nelson of Missouri, Daughter Stephanie Nelson of Circle Pines MN. Step Son Joshua Scott of Lexington MN. & Step Daughter Chealsie Scott-Pantze of Milaca MN. 13 Grandchildren. Chloe, Sheyenne, Jacob, Mariah & Andrew (Children of Jacob), Kylee & Ever (Children of Michael), Jackson & Emma (Children of Stephanie), Syriana (Daughter of Joshua), Adian, Camron & River (Children of Chealsie). Father Duwayne Nelson of Alexandria MN. Four sisters, Pam Meyer of Alexandria & Sue Johnson of Osakis, Patrice (Nelson) Corrigan of Sauk Rapids, Deanna Nelson of Tucson Arizona. Two brothers Scott Nelson of Forada MN & John Nelson of Alexandria MN. Several cousins, nieces, nephews & greats.

Donovan was preceded in death by his mother Joan Tweet & step mother Charlene Nelson.
