Delrose B. Dreger

Delrose Barbara Klimek was born March 24, 1938, in Millerville Township, MN, the daughter of Edmond and Barbara (Thoennes) Klimek. She attended school in Brandon, MN.

On April 8, 1958, Delrose was united in marriage to Harland Dreger. The couple made their home in Alexandria and raised three sons, Bob, Mike and Dan. Delrose stayed at home raising her three sons until she began working at Fingerhut in 1973. In 1976 she began work as a housekeeper at the Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria. In 1981, Delrose became supervisor of the housekeeping department and held that position until her retirement in 1995.

Delrose was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. She volunteered her time to the church and spent several years as the acolyte coordinator.

Delrose enjoyed playing cards with her husband, Harland, and after his passing, with her sister, Corrine. She also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles. She spent time watching the cooking channel, attending dice parties with family and friends, and taking an occasional trip to the casino. Listening to and singing along with country music songs was one of Delrose’s enjoyments. She taught herself to play the accordion and could occasionally be coaxed into bringing it out to entertain her family. Delrose loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

Delrose’s kindness and compassion were a blessing to all who knew her.
