Northstar Knights host annual online auction, weekend slate of games to honor Alexandria police and fire departments

A full slate of games that includes special game-worn jerseys featuring the Alexandria Police and Fire Department logos will be auctioned off through Jan. 30.

The Northstar Knights U16 and U18 hockey players will wear special jerseys honoring the Alexandria Fire and Police Departments during home games the weekend of Jan. 28-30. The Northstar Christian Academy is hosting its annual charity hockey games and auction the last weekend in January to recognize and benefit the Alexandria Fire Department and Police Department.

The Knights’ U16 and U18 hockey teams are hosting a full slate of games Jan. 28-30 with the Rocky Mountain Roughriders, Sioux Falls and Milwaukee Jr. Admirals making up the four U16 and U18 programs in town that weekend.

The Jan. 28 events will feature a reception with hors d’oeuvres from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for police and fire department members and families. A color guard special presentation will start at 7:30 to honor both departments. at the Northstar Sports Complex in Alexandria.

The Northstar Knights’ U16 team will play at noon on Jan. 28, while the Northstar U18 team will play the final game of the night at 7:30.

The Knights will wear special fire-department and police-department themed jerseys that will be auctioned off as part of a fundraiser for the departments. Additional items donated by area businesses will also be auctioned off as part of the benefit.


The list of auction items includes a "skate with a Knight" prize, Alexandria restaurant packages, a Knights’ gear basket, and a birthday party package.

All of the U16 and 18 games throughout the weekend at the Northstar Sports Complex (3888 Pioneer Rd SE) are free and open to the public.

The Knights’ U18 team is ranked 6th in the nation entering the week of Jan. 5.
