Alexandria’s Tim Voller experienced a trip down memory lane after boating a second big walleye decades apart in Douglas County on May 31 of this year.
Voller caught a 29-inch walleye during the 1991 fishing opener that was featured in the Echo Press and Vacationer publication that is put out by the newspaper. That ended up being the big fish caught over that opening weekend that was run in the newspaper.
Now 30 years later, Voller caught another 29-incher to match it.
Voller was fishing on the Alexandria Chain of Lakes during the afternoon of May 31. He was trolling in about 20 feet of water with a golden Rapala Countdown when the big walleye grabbed the lure.
