Pitino, Fleck, Whalen, Motzko part of Gophers Caravan coming to Alexandria

Fans of University of Minnesota athletics will get a chance to meet coaches from many of the Gophers programs in Alexandria on June 12.

Alexandria is one of four stops on this year's Coaches Caravan. Others are in Owatonna (May 21), Dellwood (May 22) and Chaska (June 3). The Alexandria event will take place at Carlos Creek Winery on County Road 34 Northwest starting at 5:30 p.m.

Scheduled to be at the stop in Alexandria is Director of Athletics, Mark Coyle, football coach P.J. Fleck, volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon, men's hockey coach Bob Motzko, men's basketball coach Richard Pitino and women's basketball coach Lindsay Whalen.

The event will feature an appetizer buffet and cash bar, autographs and photo opportunities with Paul Bunyan's Axe and coaches, a silent auction and a program featuring emcee Mike Grimm, Coyle and select Gophers head coaches.

It is a ticketed event with a cost of $15 per ticket, with kids ages 12 and younger $5. Fans can register online at www.gophersports.com or by calling 1-800-846-7437 (toll free) or 612-624-8080 (metro area).
