Evansville man injured in two-vehicle crash in Grant County

An Evansville man was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning on Highway 79. The crash took place shortly before 10:45 a.m. near Grant County Road 10 in Erdahl Township.

Brett Bogenrief, 47, of Evansville, was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

According to the State Patrol:

The driver of the other vehicle, Ronald Schotzko, 74, of Elbow Lake, was taken to the Elbow Lake Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Bogenrief was traveling eastbound on Highway 79 and Schotzko was traveling westbound behind a plow truck. The two vehicles struck head on and ended up in the south ditch. Bogenrief’s vehicle, a 2000 Buick Century, came to rest on its roof while Schotzko’s vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, came to rest on its wheels.

Assisting the Minnesota State Patrol were the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Elbow Lake Fire Department and LifeLink III helicopter.
