Otter Tail County has first COVID-19 death

The first COVID-19 death in Otter Tail County was confirmed by the Minnesota Department of Health Friday, June 5.

The patient was between the ages of 60 and 69. No other information was immediately available.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Otter Tail is 73, 10 more cases than a week ago, May 29.

Total cases in other nearby counties: Douglas 46, Grant 4, Pope 10, Stearns 2,056 (14 deaths), Stevens 1, and Todd 344 (1 death).

Statewide, 33 additional deaths were reported on June 5, the highest single-day total since May 28 when 35 deaths were reported, according to information from the health department.

A total of 712 new COVID-19 cases were reported statewide, bringing the cumulative total to 26,980.
