The number of COVID-19 deaths in Douglas County has been changed from two to one.
The Minnesota Department of Health reported the new death total in its daily situation update on Friday, Aug. 14. The health department has stated previously that adjustments are sometimes made when new information comes to light, such as the actual place of residence for a patient.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in two nearby counties, however, has slightly increased in the last couple of days. Grant County and Otter Tail counties now each have four deaths, up from three deaths.
Here are the new totals from the health department:
Douglas -- 144 (1 death). The county has 11 active cases, according to Horizon Public Health.
Grant -- 57 (4 deaths).
Otter Tail -- 209 (4 deaths).
Pope -- 48 (zero deaths).
Stearns -- 2,935 (20 deaths).
Stevens -- 22 (zero deaths).
Todd -- 431 (2 deaths).
Statewide, 738 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed by the health department Friday, bringing the cumulative total to 63,723. Eight new deaths were reported, bring the total to 1,693 statewide.
