At the same time that groups of volunteers were sprucing up city parks in Alexandria last Wednesday, someone was up to no good.

Supplies and other items that were supposed to be used at Noonan Park were stolen.

The thieves made off with five gallons of stain, several brushes, buckets, scrapers, rags, and a step stool, according to Bill Thoennes, city park director. He estimated that the items were worth about $200.

The supplies were taken from the circle drive near 9th Avenue and Maple Street sometime between 9 and 9:30 a.m.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Thoennes at (320) 763-6875 or the Alexandria Police Deparment at (320) 763-6631.
