Virtual meeting will discuss highway project between Elbow Lake, Barrett

The reconstruction project on Highway 55/59 between Elbow Lake and Barrett will address pavement concerns, shoulder widening, culvert replacement, turn lanes, access improvements, potential snow fence installation and pedestrian accessibility requirements in Barrett.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to a virtual public meeting on Thursday, May 6, at 5:30 p.m., to learn more about the 2022 reconstruction project on Highway 55/59 between Elbow Lake and Barrett.

A formal presentation by MnDOT will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by time for questions.

The reconstruction project on Highway 55/59 between Elbow Lake and Barrett is currently scheduled for construction in 2022, and will address pavement concerns, shoulder widening, culvert replacement, turn lanes, access improvements, potential snow fence installation and pedestrian accessibility requirements in Barrett.

For those unable to attend the meeting, a recording of the presentation will be posted to the MnDOT project webpage, with an opportunity to submit questions or comments online via the survey.
